Great Grants Program / Great Leaders Initiative

Great Grants Program

The Great Grants Program rewards high schools that have a spirited approach to supporting the community blood supply by hosting blood drives and including automation at appropriate drives. Great Grants will be awarded to 24 participating schools that have met the following criteria within a year’s time, starting on June 1, 2016 and ending on May 31, 2017.

If your school currently hosts Carter BloodCare blood drives, you need to:

  • Meet your goal
  • Host all blood drives during school hours
  • Attend a Great Leaders Initiative event
  • Host a minimum of two blood drives during the school year
  • Host an additional blood drive during a time of need (and meet the goals set)
    • June, July, or August 2016
    • September 1-9, 2016
    • November 21, 2016 - January 13, 2017
    • Mondays

If your school is not currently hosting Carter BloodCare blood drives, you need to:

  • Host a minimum of two blood drives and achieve the goal(s) established (one needs to be during a time of need – see above);
    • Blood drive goal(s) will be established in conjunction with your Carter BloodCare consultant. Typically, a drive goal should equal or be greater than 20% of senior class with a minimum of 20. However, this may vary based on date of your blood drive and inventory needs.
  • Automation must be at both blood drives
